Items for the next publication of In Touch may be given at any time until 13th May to either Sandra Hamilton or Irene Sergison. Articles on any topic can be submitted, so please feel free to contribute. As always the editor’s discretion will apply.
Well done to all the boys who participated in the recent BB Drill Competition and the Masterteam Quiz. Congratulations for achieving 1st place in Drill and a very respectable 2nd place in the Masterteam Competition. Great efforts from all the boys and thanks also to the leaders for all their support.
The Lyndale Club members are looking forward to Tuesday 20th February when June Irvine will talk about the work of the street pastors in Glasgow. The Lyndale Club meets in the Coffee Lounge at 7.30 pm and welcomes all to our midst.
World Day of Prayer
This year’s afternoon service will be held in Hillhouse Parish Church on Friday 2nd March at 2.00 pm.
Our Congregational Lunch will be held on Wednesday 14th February. Everyone who responded to the invitation is reminded that we meet at 12.30 pm for lunch at 12.45 pm. This is always a very enjoyable day of fellowship with one another and it is so good to sit back and let caterers do almost all the work. As always entertainment has been organised, so all that is now needed, is your presence!
Glad Rags and Handbags
The Ways and Means Committee has arranged something new for 2018. A Glad Rags and Handbags evening will be held on Friday 16th March. There will be a Fashion Show by Bon Marche, a selection of items handbags, jewellery and perfumes to purchase, and a WOW (water or wine) stall.
As usual tea, coffee and a selection of goodies will be served. To allow for mingling space ticket numbers will be limited to 70, so please ensure you reserve yours as soon as possible. The cost is £4 with all proceeds benefiting church funds.
Stated Annual Meeting of Congregation
This will take place on Sunday 25th February after morning worship. This is an important meeting so please do stay for a short while and then have a cup of tea. The Kirk Session and our Treasurer work very hard on your behalf, so please show your support by attending.
Retiring Offerings
The balance of recent Retiring Offerings will be distributed as follows:- Hamilton Churches’ Drop in Centre to receive £500 and St. Andrew’s Hospice £333.38.

Lyndale Club
Thank you to the Rev Malcolm Anderson who was the first speaker of the year at the Lyndale Club this year. Our next guest speaker will be the Reverend Joanne Hood when we meet on Tuesday, 23rd January at 7.30pm. Our meetings are held in the Coffee Lounge and everyone is welcome.

Christmas Fayre A reminder that our Fayre takes place on Saturday 2 December between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon. Please leave donations in the coffee lounge or the box in the vestibule. Tickets are priced £2 for adults and £1 for children.
The sum raised last week, in Gilmour & Whitehill, from the monetary donations and sale of vegetables and fruit amounted to £248. Many thanks to all for your generosity. All non-perishable goods were gratefully received by the local Food Bank volunteers, who also welcomed the remaining vegetables which will be used to make soup for the Hamilton Churches’ Drop in Centre.
Sunday School Coffee Morning
Thanks to everyone for their help and contributions towards a very successful Coffee Morning. The sum raised on the 21st October from the coffee morning and the sale of cakes amounted to £216. Well done everyone!
Rainbow, Brownies & Guides Coffee Morning
Takes place on Saturday, 4 November in Gilmour & Whitehill Parish Church from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon.
Once again our Sunday School will be filling shoe boxes with all sorts of items as part of the annual appeal. Items to be included are pens, colouring and reading books, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, hat, scarf, gloves, hair accessories, jewellery, cuddly toy, car, etc.
United Remembrance Service
This joint service between Hamilton West and Gilmour and Whitehill Parishes, takes place on Sunday, 12 November at 10.45 am. in Gilmour and Whitehill Parish Church. Our retiring offering is in aid of Erskine.
Christmas Fayre
Takes place on Saturday at Gilmour & Whitehill Parish Church, 2nd December from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. Save the date and we look forward to seeing you!

Young Onset Dementia
We are delighted to be of help to those who have been diagnosed with Young Onset Dementia and look forward to providing teas and coffees and a place to meet. The club will meet for the first time on Wednesday 30 August between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon.
Memories Tearoom
Next open on Thursday 31 August between 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm. The theme for this month is A Day at the Seaside and it is hoped to have some fun and laughter. Why not drop in just for a chat and a cup of tea/coffee.
