the-havenTwo charities have been chosen at random from the four suggested – The Haven and Crossreach.  All monies collected during the year from these offerings and the Christmas Frieze will be divided equally and donated at the year end.  crossreach

Country and Western Evening    country-and-western
The Ways and Means Committee has organised a Country and Western Evening, which is being held on Friday 29th March 2019.  Entertainment is being provided by Elaine Dallas and it is hoped to have a demonstration of Line Dancing.  Hot dogs and other food will be served. 

Tickets are on sale priced £5 each.  It would be great if folks came along dressed country style.

Please support this hardworking committee by coming along.  Yee…hah!

The Coffee Lounge is now closed on Thursdays and Fridays.

World Day of Prayer   world-day-of-prayer
This year the local World Day of Prayer Service will be held  in Gilmour & Whitehill Parish Church in Friday 1st March at 2.00 pm.  It is hoped that there will be a good attendance.

Tea/coffee and goodies afterwards.

What’s On

Memories Tearoom
memories-2The theme at the next open day on Thursday 29 November will be Remembrance. Why not come along for a chat and cup of tea or coffee? 

We are grateful to the Tearoom Committee, who have offered to purchase and install a water heater in the kitchen to replace our broken appliance.


Lyndale Club        scotland

The guest speaker at the next meeting will be Mr Stuart Logan, whose topic is Dossing Around Scotland. 

We meet in the Coffee Lounge on Tuesday 27 November at 7.30 pm.  A warm welcome is extended to all.



Coffee Morning
The 17th Hamilton Rainbows, Brownies and Guides will hold a Coffee Morning on Saturday 1st December from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon.  Please come along and support our young people.

A letter asking you to check your personal details will soon be delivered by your elder along with lots of other items such as  communion cards, free will offering envelopes, invitation to the Congregational Lunch and the In Touch magazine. 

We ask for your co-operation in this matter, and encourage you to ensure your details are up to date!

Prize Draw

Grand Prize Draw

Tickets for the Grand Prize Draw will be on sale soon at Gilmour & Whitehill Church. 

If you can sell a few to your family and friends please speak to Jeanette Hunter or Anne Paul, who will happily provide you with a book.

1st prize is a fabulous hamper worth £40, 2nd prize is a £25 voucher to dine at Carrigan’s, 3rd prize is a beautiful knitted snowman, and a further 22 other prizes to be won.

Every ticket sold will aid church funds.

With Christmas present hunting starting soon have you seen our current venture?  On display in the Coffee Lounge is a poster advertising our latest fundraising idea.  Please take a look at this novel gift, which will come completely ready to hand over to the lucky recipient.  Orders are being taken now by Anne Paul, Anne Lyon or Jeanette Hunter, any of whom will be delighted to give you further details.

Following the service each Sunday the flowers which have beautified the chancel and sanctuary are delivered to church members and the community.  Please, if you know of someone who would benefit from the joy of receiving them let Anne Paul know and their name will be added to the list.

The next meeting is on Tuesday 16 October at 7.30 pm. The speaker is Mr Irvine, whose wife’s visit last year resulted in the members donating 3 large bags of much needed items to assist The Glasgow Street Pastors.


Hamilton Operatic and Dramatic Club 

From 9-13 October this wonderful club will be performing Thoroughly Modern Millie at Motherwell Concert Hall. Tickets are available from our organist and choirmaster David Black.

Our Sunday School children and teachers are holding a Coffee Morning on Saturday 3 November. Lots of help will be required as there are just a few children. Tickets will be on sale soon at £2 adults and £1 children so please come along and support this event.
